Odds and ends

1. I took in my 2nd football match on Thursday. Ajax were hosting Willem II and played a fair bit better than the first time I saw them play, winning again 2-0. The match, though, was pretty dull. It says a lot that the most entertaining part of the match was when fans in the die-hard section lit off about 12 flares during the first half.
2. It was my birthday Wednesday.
3. In the time-flies department, there are only 4 months until I go home.
4. I'm trying to figure out what kind of major trip (8 or 9 days) I'd like to make in July. I'm considering Scandinavia, but I'm open to suggestions.
   

Vatican snapshot

This is a picture I took on December 28th, in the Vatican City. It is a beautiful place, and I am reminded of that watching the coverage of the death of Pope John Paul II.
